Lead Mentor Fellowship
Lead Mentor Fellowship
Lead Mentor Fellows are selected from past
Mentor/Instructors. In addition to all the responsibilities of the Mentor/Instructor, Lead Mentor Fellows work closely with the APS Education Office to coordinate the Mentor/Instructor activities and mentoring responsibilities for the annual cohort of Research Teacher fellows. Specifically, Lead Mentor Fellows enhance their leadership skills by:
- Providing feedback on the RTs’ online work via the Web-based Inquiry Science Environment (Project WISE) platform.
- Updating APS Education Office staff on the progress of individual RTs.
- Training and monitoring the work of the other Mentor/Instructors to ensure they are informed of program developments.
- Assisting in preparing, updating, and coordinating the instructional and learning activities for the APS Science Teaching Forum and for the Mentor/Instructors in collaboration with the APS Education Office.
Similar to the Mentor/Instructors, APS provides guidance for Lead Mentor responsibilities, as well as a stipend and travel reimbursements for all fellowship activities.
